Happy 2017

Yes, I know that I am a little late on getting this out but it is still January, so I’m not too late, right? Anyways, I hope that everyone had a great holiday season and are now working on your New Year’s resolutions. Speaking of New Year’s resolutions, I have already fallen off the wagon (to lose 30 lbs. by my birthday in March) and have to start over tomorrow. The other one I made was to be more organized and efficient, well that is sort of going good with some things around here but the rest will have to be determined at a later date. How about you? What are some of the resolutions that you have made? Leave me a comment with your resolutions and let me know how yours are going so far.

Here are some of the projects that I have been working on since the last time that I have posted. Enjoy!

These are the gifts that I sent to my secret Elfster gift exchange partner the end of December 2016.

The following are loaded envelopes that I made for Two Plates Full, to sell for Valentines gifts. I got this idea for loaded envelopes from Rosa Gomez, she does amazing work, check out her YouTube channel if you get a chance.

These are my book mark paper clip “Waz Its” that I made.

This was one of my most favorite cards that I have ever made to date. I guess I will always be a Harley girl at heart.

These were the items that I took to Two Plates Full this week, so if you get a chance and are in the Scottsdale area just stop in and take a look around, it’s a great shop with all kinds of wonderful items made by local artists.

Ok, I think that we are caught up for now and as I get more items done for Valentines I will post them. I will be a bit busy this weekend with finishing up a few more little box cards and some more loaded envelopes, plus I have to hang some curtains in a couple rooms upstairs and finish crocheting the valence for the kitchen window. Oh, yeah, I still have to finish cleaning out our garage and going through a few more boxes so I can get ready for our garage sell next month. Just writing all that down made me tired all of a sudden, well I guess it is time for bed.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Custom Order

Well, I was so thrilled when I got this custom order thru Two Plates Full back at the end of November. The customer gave me full artistic control of these cards, the only request was that they all had to be the large exploding box cards and all Birthday. It took me a week and a half to get all seven of these done, but I had so much fun making each one different.

Both these last two tea light cakes open up just like the first one so that you can put a little gift inside. You are also able to turn the tea lights off and on with all the tea light cakes.

This tea light cake also opens for placing a small gift.

With this one I also added a tea light cake to put inside the little round box and take it out and set it on top.

You may remember these last two from an earlier post I just changed them up a bit for this order.

Have a great week and be safe out there while you are doing your last minute Christmas shopping.

Started Out Sad…

Well, this was disappointing. Not one person signed up for today’s card class. What should I make of that? I guess I could wallow in it and think it was because no one liked the cards that I came up with to make, or that they don’t like me, or that I didn’t do enough advertising, or etc., etc., etc.. But instead I am going to look at this as a blessing, because maybe this is Gods way of saying “you needed this time to finish your Scottsdale order and to start on next Saturdays class project ideas.”

This is also an opportunity for all of you as well, because I am going to have all these kits available to purchase in my store. If you would like for me to assemble the card or cards for you before shipping, I will at NO extra charge. Please take advantage of this great opportunity to get ahead on your holiday cards this year.

Thank you everyone for being so patient with me and continuing to follow me and my little blog. So for your patience I would like to share with you some pictures of a few of the exploding box cards and regular box cards I’ve made this week.

All my box cards and exploding box cards are sold exclusively at Two Plates Full in Scottsdale, so in order to purchase them go to the shop, go online or call them. This is a wonderful boutique filled with just about everything you can think of for gifts from young to old, gag gifts to elegant hostess gifts, yard art and so much more. I love this shop and I think once you take a look around in there you will understand why, and you just might fall in love with it too.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Kids Halloween Box Cards

Here are the Kids Halloween Box Cards that I made on Saturday, September 17, 2016. I had a lot of fun making these. Thinking like a kid and trying to remember what I liked as a kid is how I put these cards together. Take a look and let me know what you think. Oh, and all these cards fold flat so that you can put them in an envelope and send through the mail with regular postage.

Sorry, it was sort of overcast outside when I took these so the pictures didn’t come out quite as crisp and clear as usual.

Well it is time for me to get some shut eye, I am exhausted. I will post tomorrow pictures of what I have been doing today.

Last week when my baby (cat) was missing I could not sleep or concentrate on anything so I just crocheted. As you can see below I got a lot done in 96 hours, there were a lot of tears shed on some of these items and lots of prayers said while working on each and every one of them. I think that these all turned out being some of my most favorite items that I have ever made so far.

The two Boho scarves and scoodie bases were already done I just needed to put on the finishing touches.

Crocheting and knitting are crafts that I am always doing whenever my husband and I are watching our favorite TV show on Sunday evening, or if we go to the movies, in the Dr.’s waiting room, getting the oil changed or whenever I know that I am going to be sitting around waiting for a while. To me crocheting or knitting is very relaxing and are easy projects to carry around, put down, and pick up quite quickly without losing your place. Let me know what your favorite craft is by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what you all are doing out there.

All the item above are for sale and will be posted in my store with more details and pictures for each. If you would like the pattern for the shopping tote I got it from Daisy Cottage Designs. The pattern is very easy to follow, is quick to make and free. You will find many other project patterns on this site as well. Go check it out and create something fun today!

Have a crafty day!

Halloween Box Card

Thank you to everyone that stopped by the Farmer’s Market in old town Casa Grande yesterday. It was fun talking to everyone and meeting so many wonderful people. I didn’t sell one thing, but I had a great time and am looking forward to next Tuesday’s Farmer’s Market. If you get a chance come down and say “Hi”, and bring a friend. It is really small right now because it is inside Herbalicious, but in October it will be held outside and it will be much bigger. I forgot to take pictures so I will post some of next weeks event.

Wow, it is still sprinkling outside, the sky is all grey, the air is still and looks like it should be cool outside but it is very humid and hot. I wonder if it will be like this all day? I wish, I love days like this, because for some reason I am so much more productive.

Now down to business…lol.

Here is one of the Halloween box cards that I made and the step by step process in pictures.

These are all the base pieces cut out. The box (the solid grey, scored cardstock at the top of the picture) is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Score length wise down the middle at 2 1/2″, then score width wise at 2″, 4″, 6″ and 8″. The pattern for the box will be posted under this tutorial. The back panels (the long brick looking pieces) are 5 2/8″ x 1 4/8″. The bottom panels are 2 4/8″ x 1 4/8″. The top panels are 2 2/8″ x 1 4/8″.

When you glue the pieces on this is what it should look like for the outside.

These are the only panels that you will put on the opposite/front side.

Take the little 3″ x 1 1/8″ strips, these are going to be the center pieces to hold your display/decorations. Fold them on 1/2″ score lines just like shown in the pictures above and below.

This is how it should look when you have all the pieces glued in place.

Then you will glue your front panel on the inside of the back flap like in the above picture.

Here are a couple of the stamps and edgelits in the Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog, from the Spooky Fun Stamp Set and Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies bundle, that I used.

Here they are all cut out.

Here are a couple more of the Edgelits from the same bundle that I used for this card.

Here is the final product.

Let me know if you would like me to post more step by step picture tutorials. Be sure to contact me if you would like a Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog (only available from September 1, 2016 – January 3, 2017) or the Annual Catalog.
