I’m so excited….

Last week I was busy working on my first order that I received from my weekend at The Big Tin Cotton Gin. This week I will be working on another order and also prepping for the next show November 17 – 19. It’s only a couple weeks away and so now is the crunch time for making all my Christmas items and rearranging my booth to accommodate all the new stuff. This is the first year that I have done anything like this and I am loving the whole vibe that you get from being around so many other creative/artistic people. I plan to take a lot more photo’s at the next show so that I can share the experience with all of you.

Here are a few pictures of my booth from this month and the items that I had.

I will be having more Christmas items for the next show and a lot more stocking stuffer type items.

If you have any ideas or suggestions for items I should have in my booth please comment or email me I would appreciate all feedback I can get.

Thank you all for following me and putting up with all these long in between lulls with my posts. When I get in a zone I kinda tune out the rest of the world and only focus on the task at hand, I even neglect my poor husband and our cats of my attention. Although I’m sure my husband doesn’t mind the quiet during my “creative times”.

Below is a picture of just a few of the cute little trio nugget boxes I made for this last weeks order.

10-28-2017 003

This is not my original design for these little boxes I actually got the design and instructions from Julie DiMatteo at The Paper Pixie. She is also an Independent Stampin’ Up Demonstrator and she has a lot of really cute gift box ideas. I really like her instruction videos because she takes you step by step and makes it very simple and easy to follow (I like simple and easy). Be sure to check out her new 2017 cute Christmas gift box ideas.

Have a great week!

Sheila

P.S. Everyone that stops by my booth at The Big Tin Cotton Gin November 17-19, and says hi will receive a free gift from me.

Something to make you laugh…

I just had to share with you this really cute picture of Jax and hopefully it will make you laugh or at least bring a smile to your face.

Jax sleeping

He was helping me in the craft room and just wore himself out. He doesn’t snore but he does sleep with his tongue sticking out, it is so cute.

We sometimes forget that he is still a baby until moments like this.

Have a great Monday!

September 9, 2017 Card Class

Ok, CHANGE OF PLANS here.

Starting September 9, 2017, I will be having a Card Class every Saturday for the month of September. I will not be having any classes in the months of October, November or December. Last year I stretched myself too thin with trying to do too much and ended up being sick for almost a month, so I am not going to do that this year. We will see how things are going as the season progresses and maybe we will be able to slip in a class or two before Christmas.

So, for our class September 9, 2017 here are the cards that I have come up with so far.

8-31-2017 009

I got the idea for this card from Donna Kish a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator. You really should go check out her blog she has some really pretty cards, very talented lady.

8-31-2017 011

This card idea I got off Pinterest, but before I could save it my cat walked across the keyboard and closed the page. I lost it and when I went back I could not find it again and still have not. So if you are the person or know the person who created this please contact me so that I can give you the credit for this card design. I changed it up a little bit but it is still the same layout.

8-31-2017 006

I got the idea for this Treat Card from Mary Brown off Pinterest. Mine is changed up a bit from hers but the idea is the same. There are three Hershey’s nuggets inside with space to write a note to the recipient.

I have a couple more projects ideas we may do as well, like another little treat box and/or gift card holder cards (if that makes any sense….lol).

If you live here in Arizona and looking for something to do to get out of the heat on September 15-16, 2017. Well I have a suggestion for you… at the Mesa Convention Center they are going to be having the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo where you can enjoy workshops, check out new products/equipment, meet Stephanie Barnard and Becki Adams, plus so much more. If you would like any more information here is the link Stamp and Scrapbook Expo 2017 . I am so excited, this will be the first time I have ever gone, and I know it will be fun.

There is one thing that I would like to ask of all of you right now. Will you please take a moment to pray for all the people and animals down in Texas that have lost everything and are struggling to get through each day. All the proceeds from my September classes will be going to the Houston Humane Society , so if you would like to sign up for all four classes ($20.00 per class) now, then please use this link to make your donation and bring your receipt with you to the September 9, 2017 class. Thank you!

Love, peace and strength…

Card Class Update

As I called my card class regulars yesterday to get a final count for class, by popular vote they decided they did not want to make the stationery box with all the cards and tags they just wanted to make cards. So last night I came up with the following ideas, thanks to my Pinterest stash. All the kits are made and ready to go and I was in bed by 2:00 am, so it was a productive day.

Here are the cards I came up with and under each one I will give you the link as to where I found it and credit to who designed them, so be sure to go check out those sites as well for many more wonderful card ideas.

8-24-2017 015

This sample came from the Stampin’ Up Holiday catalog preview for one of the fall suites. The flowers are cut out of a sheet from the Painted Autumn DSP pack and the background paper is from the same pack. Stampin’ Up Holiday catalog will be released September 1, 2017, so if you would like a catalog contact me or if you already have a demonstrator then please contact them to request your catalog.

8-24-2017 005

This is my idea simple, aged, rustic.

8-24-2017 009

On this card there is supposed to be a little banner at the bottom of the card in the Night of Navy card stock with the sentiment, but I thought it looked nice just like this so I put the sentiment on the inside only. I have cut out all the little banner strips for each card that way the class will have the option to put it on the front if they wish. The idea for this card came from Stampin with Sandi

8-24-2017 014

The background DSP (Designer Series Paper) also came from the Painted Autumn paper pack. The stamps came from the Merry Cafe’ stamp set also in the New 2017 Holiday Catalog coming out September 1, 2017. The little gift tag I made myself using my Crimper, the smallest hole punch on my Crop-A-Dile and then I punched out the little heart using my Stampin’ Up Owl punch. You can also order the Corrugated Elements tags through my Stampin’ Up website (order # 144158). Now this idea came from Stampin’ Pretty.

I hope that you enjoyed these samples, but please go check out these other ladies as well they have some really cool card ideas.

Here is how I had to work last night.

While I was cutting out all those flowers. If I moved too much his paw on top of my arm would grab my arm with his claws.

8-24-2017 003

After about half an hour of holding on to my arm he moved over to the other side of my desk (I guess I was moving too much and it was disturbing him) and fell asleep. This is how he sleeps most of the time, with his little tongue sticking out. Isn’t he so cute. He is getting so big now that he takes up a majority of my work space, but he still thinks he fits perfect.

Thank you all for stopping by and I hope that you have a great rest of your week.

Card Class July 29, 2017

Christmas in July!

7-22-2017 001
Isn’t this the cutest? I love that  bear stamp and punch from Stampin’ Up, they are discontinued now, but I can still use them for cute little cards like this to share with my class.

7-22-2017 005
Got the idea for this card from Pinterest and the design layout is by Tracy Elsom, she is also a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator.
7-22-2017 006
I got this layout idea online somewhere but I can’t find it now. I am sorry I don’t know who to give the credit to but once I do find it again I will update this post.
7-22-2017 012
I used three different stamp sets to create this card and I think it turned out cute.

Yes, I know it’s July and it is hot outside how can I even think about Christmas right now? Well Christmas is only five months away and next week it will be here, or at least it will feel that way when Dec. 1 rolls around and you don’t even have your cards sent or a present bought. So now Christmas in July doesn’t sound so crazy right?

Anyway, come visit this crazy lady July 29, 2017 at 10 am and let’s make some Christmas cards. All the cards shown above are the ones that we will be making in this class. I also have a little surprise for all those attending this mad tea party we are having, oh wait I am going crazy it’s not a tea party it’s a Christmas party in July…lol…do I have you confused yet? We will have tea, coffee and water and there will be a surprise for those who attend.

I will provide all the supplies and materials needed to complete each of these card. Please bring a friend and plan on having a good time creating, chatting and sharing ideas with some wonderful ladies. For more information and to sign up for this class please refer to my Stampin’ Up Website.

Dead line for sign up is Wednesday, July 26,2017, @ 12 am.

See you Saturday!

Namaste,

Sheila

Happy Birthday!!!

Well this week we (the United States of America) celebrated our Independence on the 4th of July, Birthday #1. By the way I hope that everyone enjoyed the fireworks, all the cook outs, picnics, parades and celebrations. I love the fireworks, I always have and this year we watched the from the comfort of our own home from our second story loft window from our near by town and one city a few miles away, it was wonderful. We stayed home only because this was Jackson’s first 4th of July and we didn’t really know how he would handle the noise from the neighbors fireworks and such (which no one did let off any in our neighborhood this year, it was very quiet).

Speaking of Jackson, this past Wednesday July 5th, 2017 was officially the 6th week of Jackson becoming a part of our little family. Poor boy doesn’t realize that he has to go get his rabies vaccine shot tomorrow morning, what a way to celebrate his 6 week birthday with us. Birthday #2.

In a couple weeks my husband will be celebrating his birthday and I asked him what he wanted or wanted to do….I heard that, get your mind out of the gutter….to celebrate. He actually surprised me and said all he wanted to do, if he had the day off, is to go to the movies and maybe out to dinner. Wow…have we gotten boring or what? Man I never thought that we would ever get to this point in our lives when we were content to stay home on the 4th of July or go to the movies and maybe dinner for our birthday. I guess this is what getting old is really like! Happy Birthday to another year older #3.

So since there seems to be a Birthday theme going on this month I came up with two Birthday cards and two cards that could be used as Thank You, birthday, just because or what ever. Below are pictures of the samples. In this class we are also going to be making a little something extra that can be given as a gift or you may want to just keep it for yourself to use. I will not be showing pictures of the later only because it is a fun surprise for attendees only. For more details about the class please refer to my Stampin’ Up site.

Now these are the two Birthday cards that I designed myself.

7-3-2017 010

This card I copied from Rachel Durtschi she is a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator and she has the step by step instructions on her site if you would like to go check her out.

7-3-2017 015

Now this card was created by Kim McGillis whom is also a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator you should go check out all her beautiful cards as well.

These last two cards are the ones that can be used for Thank You, Birthday, Friend, Just because, or whatever you may need a card for. The stamps used on both these cards came from the same stamp set – Wood Words Stamp Set from Stampin’ Ups Annual 2017-2018 Catalog. This stamp set pairs perfectly with the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack (which I used a couple strips on the last card as part of the background), the Wood Crate Framelits Dies, the 1/4″Copper Trim and the 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon. Please go to my Stampin’ Up site to order any or all of the above listed items to recreate these last two cards on your own.

The paper and stamp sets used on the first two cards are also from the Stampin’ Up Annual 2017-2018 Catalog and can be found on my Stampin’ Up shop site as well.

My Stampin’ Up Website says that we are going to be making 3 Thank You card and 1 Birthday card but I changed that to 2 Birthday cards and 2 cards that can be used for any occasion of your choice. Everything else is correct for the class description. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Card Class 6-24-17

Sorry I am getting this post out so late! It has been way busy around here the last few days and this weekend went by so fast…I hope all you Dad’s had a great Father’s Day (that includes fur baby dad’s of course).

I just finished my last card kit and packed my bag for tomorrow’s card challenge with my friend K., we try to do this once a month. What we do is we both have to come up with three different cards or paper project and make the sample, then we have to make two kits for each card or project. Then we plan a day and get together so that we can exchange kits and make the cards and/or projects we created. It really is fun and we both have a great time learning from one another.

This morning, before my first client got here, I finished the last card for the card class on Saturday and took pictures of it so that is another reason that I am late this week. Ok, enough excuses let’s get on with it already….

I designed this one, I wanted something warm almost southwest looking.

I created this one a while back, I just love this Stampin’ Up stamp set.

This was the first time I ever used these stamp sets and framelits and I just love them all. I wanted this card to whimsical yet cheery and I believe it was accomplished.

Alright last but not least….my favorite! I love this worm stamp set, it’s an old Stampin’ Up stamp set but I love it, especially for my box cards. This is the one I finished putting together and taking pictures of this morning.

So now that you all can see what we are going to be making in class on Saturday, June 24, 2017 then sign up so you can come join us! Please go to my Stampin’ Up Website to get more details about the class and to sign up.

Have to cut this short it is getting late and I want to give you all time to sign up. Also the dead line is pushed back a day to Thursday, June 22, 2017.

Have a great rest of the week!

Namaste

June 10, 2017 – Card Class

Just wanted to remind you all that Wednesday, June 7, 2017 is the dead line to sign up for the card class on June 10, 2017. Please go to my website sheilascards.stampinup.net to sign up or email me at sheilazcards@gmail.com.

Below are pictures of the cards that we will be making in class.

This is my design.

6-4-17 021

I got this lay out and idea from Pinterest and followed the link to  Stamping Up North with Laurie. Her cards are simple and clean, I love those kinds of cards.

This one I also got off Pinterest but there was no link to follow. The credit for this card design goes to Sheila Terlep at Stampin’ Up.

I got this layout off Pinterest and after I had looked at the picture I figured well it doesn’t look all that hard I can figure this out. I did figure it out on the first try and it wasn’t hard but it does look really cool. When I sat down to write this blog I followed the link to Inker’s Workshop and what do you know they have all the steps written out for you. Yeah I feel real stupid right now, someone made it simple for us but I had to do it the hard way and figure it out on my own. Daaaaaaaaaaaah

Ok, two of these cards are specifically for Birthday but the other two can be used as Father’s Day, Birthday or whatever. If you would like to purchase any one or all of these card kits they will be available in my store on June 9, 2017. Or you can attend my card class on June 10, 2017 and we will be making all of these cards in class.

Please go to my website sheilascards.stampinup.net for more details about the class and to sign up.

Thanks for stopping by hope to see you on Saturday!

New Addition

As you all know our 16 year old boy fur baby passed away in Dec., 2016. Since then we have been on the fence about getting another cat. We already have a Tonkinese that is 10 years old and her name is Takara, plus our boys biological sister Sheba who is 16 years old. What we have read about the Tonkinese though is that they need companionship, and if they don’t have another cat to play with then they can get depressed.

Our boy Zues and our baby girl Takara were very close, they used to spend a lot of time together hunting, patrolling the yard and neighborhood, they would even sleep near each other, and they loved to play king of the mountain or chase one another around the house. When our boy was sick (before we even knew he was sick) she would always go and check on him while he was sleeping, he would wake up look up at her and then lay back down, then she would walk away knowing he was alright. Needless to say she has been missing Zues and has been a lot more clingy with me (which I don’t mind at all because I love to cuddle her), so we knew she was needing a play mate, someone she could pal around with. Sheba thinks that she is human so she isn’t very friendly with Takara.

In Feb. 2017 we went to our local Humane Society to get a kitten but they did not have any at that time so we left our names and phone number with the lady in charge of the cat area. We could tell she really loves her job of taking care of the cats, she knew the history of each of the cats, and was very thorough about the adoption process just so we knew what we were getting into. We both really liked her and we knew she would call. Sure enough she did… after we had given up and thought that maybe it was for the best we didn’t get the call.

On May 24, 2017 we got the call that they had some male kittens in and that they had all been neutered, were we still interested? My husband, of course, said “YES”. That afternoon he had to go to work so he asked me to go pick out one of the kittens and bring it home. First I went to Pet Smart and got a little litter box just for him, some soft kitten food, some crunchy kitten food, two big tubs of litter (the girls needed their litter changed too), and a fuzzy cuddle toy. Then I headed out to the Humane Society to get our little boy. As soon as I walked through the door that nice lady recognized me and took me straight to the kittens. She said that they had a total of eight brought in the week before and we were adopting the fourth one so that made me feel good, because at least they were getting adopted. Below is a picture of our little guy on his third day with us.

5-27-17 003

Yep, he is already my husbands cat! Isn’t he the cutest little thing? He is so curious and isn’t afraid of anything (even his sisters). We really have to watch him because he gets into everything, it’s really like having a human baby in the house. We have not really slept very well the last four nights, because we are taking turns sleeping in his room with him. We are slowly letting him explore the house so the girls can get used to his scent but we have to leave him in his room at night for his safety and so the girls can still have their space. The girls have been really good with the adjustment. Sheba keeps her distance and just watches him, but then again she does the same thing with Takara because to her they are just mere animals. Takara on the other hand has really taken an interest in him. This morning was the first time that they actually played next to each other and watched the birds through the sliding glass door next to each other. Takara was watching him play around under the dining room table while I was doing the dishes and when he tried to go in another area she hissed at him as to say “no you stay here”, so he went back to playing under the table. I am so proud of her and how she is accepting him so well, after all we did get him for her.

This little guy really has stirred things up in our household, but we needed it and we are so grateful to have this new addition we call Jackson and Jax for short. I will post new pictures and keep you updated on Jackson’s progress as he continues to settle in and grow up.

Celebrate Memorial Day for those that have given their lives serving this country. Fore it is their day, not ours!
