Scarves

Last week when my baby (cat) was missing I could not sleep or concentrate on anything so I just crocheted. As you can see below I got a lot done in 96 hours, there were a lot of tears shed on some of these items and lots of prayers said while working on each and every one of them. I think that these all turned out being some of my most favorite items that I have ever made so far.

The two Boho scarves and scoodie bases were already done I just needed to put on the finishing touches.

Crocheting and knitting are crafts that I am always doing whenever my husband and I are watching our favorite TV show on Sunday evening, or if we go to the movies, in the Dr.’s waiting room, getting the oil changed or whenever I know that I am going to be sitting around waiting for a while. To me crocheting or knitting is very relaxing and are easy projects to carry around, put down, and pick up quite quickly without losing your place. Let me know what your favorite craft is by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what you all are doing out there.

All the item above are for sale and will be posted in my store with more details and pictures for each. If you would like the pattern for the shopping tote I got it from Daisy Cottage Designs. The pattern is very easy to follow, is quick to make and free. You will find many other project patterns on this site as well. Go check it out and create something fun today!

Have a crafty day!

A New Day

Thank you Lord for another beautiful sunrise! I am up watching the sun rise over this beautiful desert that I live in. The air is cool right now so I have all the windows open enjoying the fresh air before it gets too hot and we have to close everything back up and turn the ac back on. The birds are singing in the tree outside my office window and I can hear the neighborhood coming to life as everyone is opening and closing doors as they leave for work and school. This is my favorite part of the day.

So many people have the misconception that the desert is always dry, dirty, barren, hot and for the most part it is, but it is also beautiful in its own way. Yes, the summers are very hot and dry but the sunsets and sunrises are so awesome that they are totally worth the heat in between. We only have four hot months out of the year and the rest are absolutely perfect. We have trees, flowers and cactus that bloom and flourish all year round. The animals and critters that live in the desert are so diverse and interesting to watch. Sometimes when I am driving down the road and see a road runner on the side of the road I will slow down or pull over just to watch it for a bit. There have been many times that we have had a family of quail crossing the field behind us and I am amazed at the way that they just stay in a straight line with one parent in front, all the babies in the middle and the other parent in the back following. One time I got to see the male Tarantulas traveling to find their mate for mating season. That was a chance encounter I will never forget, not because they are spiders and creep most people out but, because they were so focused on their mission. There were thousands of them and they all stayed together and none of them strayed from the band that was crossing the road, it was actually pretty phenomenal.

In the 20 years that I have lived in this wonderful state I have never been disappointed by the natural beauty that surrounds us. This is my home now and in the last few years I have come to really love this place and appreciate all that the desert has to offer. Thank you God for bringing me to this place physically, mentally, and spiritually.

I found these photos of our beautiful state on the internet for you to enjoy. I will have to take some of my own to post later.

Have a wonderful day!
