New Items for Shop

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to share with you some of the new item I am putting in my shop just in time for you to purchase as gifts for the upcoming holiday season. I have many stocking stuffer items, cards, and useful household items for you to choose from.  I will be adding more stuff as the season progresses so I will keep you posted but also be sure to check out my shop periodically.

Hand knit 100% cotton yarn wash/dish clothe. Nice and thick, can be washed in the washer and dried in the dryer without shrinking or losing it’s shape. This one can be folded over to be used for dishes or unfold it to use it as a wash clothe in the tub or shower.

Same as above only this is a pocket version to you can put in a bar of soap and use it as a wash clothe that way or put your hand inside and lather it up as a dish clothe or wash clothe.

Here are some of the pretty little bookmarks that I have made with charms and satin ribbon.

This is a sample of one of the bookmark’s without the ribbon. They are just as pretty, I think. Anyway, all these bookmarks are hand crochet by me and the charms are all made by me as well. Be sure to check these out in my shop where I will have more specifics on each bookmark.

Alright that’s it for now, but as I complete more items I will keep you updated as I list them in my shop. Happy shopping everyone!

Have a wonderfully blessed day…..

Christmas Crafts

Well it is almost that time of year again! As a crafter you know that now is when you start getting ready and making things like crazy. Even all the stores are getting their holiday items out on the shelves (actually the craft stores have had their holiday items out for a couple months now). So I jumped on the band wagon and in July I had a Christmas card class and we made some Christmas cards and a bonus item I didn’t post on my blog ahead of time because I wanted it to be a surprise for the class. Here are the pictures of them below.

They are actually little gift boxes made using the Cutie Pie Thinlets Die from Stampin’ Up. The little boxes are supposed to be faux cake slices and when you put a bunch together it makes a whole cake. But I was going for Christmas tree gift boxes.

Then I made this cute little hanging Christmas decoration using these chipboard coasters my friend K. gave me and challenged me to make something with them. I love this lady she keeps me on my toes and is forever giving me ideas for crafting, business advise, referrals, and challenging me to broaden my crafting abilities. I think everyone needs at least one good friend like that, I know I am thankful to have her in my life. So this is one idea I came up with for them.

This is another idea I came up with, a little picture or memory book. This is the front and the front side of the book with a pocket filled with gift tags on the first page. The last page has a pocket with a flap that holds one note card.

This is the back side of the book and there is only one pocket that hold a bow, some small gift tags, and the twine to tie them. All the other spaces on this side are for journaling or attaching photos.

In that same week I also made some scrubbie dish clothes.

These are awesome. I love the Fruity Pebbles like colors of this yarn. They really scrub good too. I will have these posted in my store here pretty soon with all the details so be sure to check them out.

Ok, I think I have kept you long enough and have given you some ideas for your holiday crafting and gift giving. If you would like instructions or patterns for any of the above listed items please let me know and I can send them to you in PDF form or maybe do a tutorial on here.

Please leave a comment and let me know what you think and if you have made some cool holiday items that you would like to share link your post or send me a picture, because I would love to see what you all are making out there this season.

Have a great day!

Dia de los Muertos Box Card

Today I wanted to share with you my very first video and my first Dia de los Muertos (day of the dead) box card for this year. I really had fun putting this box card together, wait I say that about all my box cards but it is true. Now this video on the other hand, well that was very challenging for me, I didn’t write out a script or prepare ahead of time I just winged the whole thing, because I as so excited to share this with you. Please be patient with me and with practice I will get better at these videos, so don’t jump ship just yet.

Well here is the video, please comment below and let me know what you think. Enjoy!

I am also including some still pictures for you to reference.

This is the outside view of the box card with the lid on.

This is the inside view of the card as soon as you take off the lid. The flaps on this layer can be used to put picture on this flower side and on the back side of the flap you can write a message or place more pictures.

This is the second layer and this layer has three pockets with tags and one flap that has a tie down closure.

This is the third layer. I think this layer is the most serene and pretty layer because of the blue background, the white lacy doilies and the gold medallion doilies on each flap. Plus I love the idea of this being the alter portion of the card, it just fits. You definitely don’t have to use this as an alter area,  pictures would look really good with these pretty backgrounds and would display nicely set out on a table just like this.

Well, I hope that you enjoyed this video and the pictures, please leave a comment below and let me know what you think. If you have any questions about this card or the items used please contact me I would love to assist you and your creativity any way I can.

Have a great week!

Back Yard

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine brought over some cactus clippings from her yard so that we could get a start on our desert landscaping in the backyard. This is just the beginning, next we are going to be putting in a couple trees. We (my husband and I) have decided to do everything by ourselves, for now, to save some money. Plus we have really enjoyed working on the yard together. LOL, pulling weeds and planting cactus has been the extent of our “working on the yard” so far.

Anyway, enjoy the pictures and I will keep you updated as they grow and as we continue to add things to the backyard.

Below is a picture of our cat taking a dirt bath in one of the flower pots that luckily doesn’t have anything in it right now. She just loves to roll around in this pot so I don’t think I will be planting anything in it for a while.

I bought myself a birthday gift last week, a new plant for the living room. This beautiful spider plant had a bunch of babies on it when I got her. So, I will be able to have quite a few more plants around the house as soon as these ones start rooting and I can plant them in pots. She fills up this corner just perfect.

I finally finished crocheting the Valence for the kitchen window and hung it up this past weekend. I am now working on crocheting the cafe curtains to match. I have temporary ones hung up for now as you can see in the picture.

Oh, one other thing that my husband has been working on the last couple days is painting the upstairs bedrooms. When he is all done I will post pictures of them too.

Well I hope that everyone has a wonderful day. Be sure to treat yourself today, you deserve something just for you, even if it is just 10 minutes of meditation.

Namaste,

Sheila

Scarves

Last week when my baby (cat) was missing I could not sleep or concentrate on anything so I just crocheted. As you can see below I got a lot done in 96 hours, there were a lot of tears shed on some of these items and lots of prayers said while working on each and every one of them. I think that these all turned out being some of my most favorite items that I have ever made so far.

The two Boho scarves and scoodie bases were already done I just needed to put on the finishing touches.

Crocheting and knitting are crafts that I am always doing whenever my husband and I are watching our favorite TV show on Sunday evening, or if we go to the movies, in the Dr.’s waiting room, getting the oil changed or whenever I know that I am going to be sitting around waiting for a while. To me crocheting or knitting is very relaxing and are easy projects to carry around, put down, and pick up quite quickly without losing your place. Let me know what your favorite craft is by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what you all are doing out there.

All the item above are for sale and will be posted in my store with more details and pictures for each. If you would like the pattern for the shopping tote I got it from Daisy Cottage Designs. The pattern is very easy to follow, is quick to make and free. You will find many other project patterns on this site as well. Go check it out and create something fun today!

Have a crafty day!
