Merry Christmas

Today is the day that family and friends spend together celebrating by exchanging gifts and having lavish feasts. But do we really know or remember what we are celebrating? What this day really means? Not just a day off from work for the adults or winter break for the kids.

This is the day that we are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. So this is also a holy day, a day that we should be generous and kind to one another. I believe that every day of the year we should be generous and kind to one another, but then that is just me.

I love to watch the old animated “The little Drummer Boy” movie, and every year when I watch it I cry. That movie always reminds me that no matter how humble the gift, if it comes from the heart with love, then it is even more precious than all the gold or fine jewels in the world.

What is your favorite holiday movie? Why? I really would like to see your comments below or email me privately if you like.

For the last several years I have a regular routine every Christmas. I wake up and say a prayer of thanks to God. I make pancakes and eggs for my husband and I. We feed the cats their special feast of fancy cat foods and boiled chicken. Then my husband, the cats, and I watch “The Christmas Story”. Then I clean house and get ready for the rest of the week. My husband and I do not exchange gifts anymore because we have everything that we need.

I do have to admit that for several years now I have had the same wish and I am hoping that one day that wish will come true. Other than that I am very blessed and grateful for the life I have.

Christmas is also a day that reminds me of my faith and belief in God and how powerful his love really is. I am not religious, I used to be, but I do believe in God and I do talk to him every day.

God put Jesus on this earth to teach us kindness, love, compassion, generosity, forgiveness, and he also gave us the tools and knowledge to heal one another. Some how as a society we have lost our way and His teachings. The only time of year that we see a smidgen of generosity or kindness on a larger scale is at Christmas time.

Ok, I have two request for everyone this coming New Year! 1. Everyday do one kind, or generous, or compassionate, or loving thing, or forgive someone. 2. Pass this request around to all your friends and family so that they can make this their New Years resolution as well. None of these cost you anything (unless you choose to) except maybe a second of your time. In return you will receive a lighter heart, a warmth inside that is immeasurable, a feeling of great satisfaction, and you just might get a kiss or hug in return.

Thank you for reading through my rambling today, this wasn’t exactly what I had in mind to write when I sat down, but apparently this is what I am supposed to write because it just all came out rather easily.

Merry Christmas everyone and may you have a Happy Healthy New Year filled with much joy and many blessing!

Christmas in July 2018

Yes, you read the title right, we are having our annual Christmas in July Card Class on Saturday the 21st at 10:00 am.

Here is a sneak peek at the cards we will be making in this class.

DSCN0724

See a theme going on here? This was not intentional, I didn’t realize it until I took this picture with them all together.

The impossible card (the one in the front standing up) has two different versions to it so you will be given all the pieces in class to make it either way. This card design I have to give credit to Julie DiMatteo over at The Paper Pixie, where you can find all kinds of awesome paper projects.

All the other cards are my design and they are all using items from the new Stampin’ Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalog along with some old items. All these cards can be adapted for any holiday or occasion that you may want to use them for and in class I will show you examples.

Christmas in July Card Class

Date: July 21, 2018

Time: 10 am to 12 pm

Cost: $15.00

You will receive: All the supplies and materials to complete all 4 of these cards pictured, plus the project.

I am so looking forward to seeing you in class, where I am sure we will have a great time creating these fun Christmas cards and the cute project that you can use as a gift.

Have a great weekend everyone, be safe and be sure to create something beautiful even if it is a moment.

Custom Order

Well, I was so thrilled when I got this custom order thru Two Plates Full back at the end of November. The customer gave me full artistic control of these cards, the only request was that they all had to be the large exploding box cards and all Birthday. It took me a week and a half to get all seven of these done, but I had so much fun making each one different.

Both these last two tea light cakes open up just like the first one so that you can put a little gift inside. You are also able to turn the tea lights off and on with all the tea light cakes.

This tea light cake also opens for placing a small gift.

With this one I also added a tea light cake to put inside the little round box and take it out and set it on top.

You may remember these last two from an earlier post I just changed them up a bit for this order.

Have a great week and be safe out there while you are doing your last minute Christmas shopping.

Last of the Christmas Cards

Here we are just one week away from Christmas, are you ready? I guess I am as ready as I am going to be. The one thing I did not do this year is make my Christmas Tamale’s, I know that I have disappointed many people in not doing so and I am so sorry for that, but then again there is only one me and I can’t do everything (even though at times I think I can). This season my top priorities have been my clients and my cards for Two Plates Full.

I have already made my New Year’s resolution and that is to be more organized and ahead of the game in 2017, that is why I am already starting on my Valentines, St. Patrick’s Day and Thank You cards. As soon as I get some pictures taken I will post them.

Below are my last pictures of Christmas cards for the season that I delivered to Scottsdale last week.

Merry Christmas everyone! See you in the New Year.

Recent Projects

Well here we are the last couple days of November, and is everyone ready for the madness of December? Do you all have all your Christmas decorations up yet? Have you started baking and picking up presents, or wrapping them if you are already done shopping? If you said yes to any or all the above, then good for you because you are way ahead of me. Normally the day after Thanksgiving I start making Tamale’s and decorating the house for Christmas. This year I have not started anything! After I run a couple errands in the morning I am hoping to get started on the decorating. I will share with you my progress as we go.

For now here are some pictures of the most recent projects that I have made for Two Plates Full.

This little snow covered house also lights up.

This is a real glass car ornament that I glued to the base of this card and it turned out so cute.

This is such a fun little ginger bread card with chocolate cake gift box.

This was so much fun making and surprisingly it turned out just how I invisioned it when I saw this little lighted Santa ornament in the store.

I think that this is my most favorite card so far. I saw these nut cracker ornaments at Micheals and had to have them because this is exactly what I had in my head to do with them. I love it when an idea really comes together.

My little ginger bread boy and girl with all the trimmings.

Ginger bread boy and girl card #2. They both turned out so cute.

This one was fun and I want to make more of these in different colors. I believe that you will be seing this little truck in many different cards in the future. 11-23-2016-064

This is one of my favorite smaller box cards.

These are my two different versions using the November – Paper Pumpkin kit. The one on the right is a shaker card.

This is my little black, red and white votive tea light cake with matching gift box.

The following are the Christmas version.

The following are the Birthday ones.

Am working on a few more Christmas, Birthday, Retirement and Hanukkah box cards large and small for next weeks order and a couple custom orders. This is going to be one busy week.

Well I hope that you enjoyed the pictures, let me know what you think and which one or ones are your favorite.

Create something beautiful today!

Week 7 Card Class

No,  I did not post anything last week and we did not have a class last week so we are going to just keep going with our 10 week count down.

This week we are going to be making five Christmas cards and one surprise project. Two of the cards we are going to be making can be changed up a bit and you will see the two different versions that I came up with for each of those in the pictures below.

Here is the first card and you can see here the two different placements of the sentiment and with the one on the left I stamped off the wood stamp to make the wood grain a little lighter. This layout I got online a while back (I’m sorry I can’t remember where I saw it but if you find it or if you know who it is please let me know so I can give them credit), but it was for a Thank You card originally, I do believe.

11-13-2016-007

This one I came up with using the new Stampin’ Up Candy Cane Lane DSP 141981, the Cookie Cutter Christmas Bundle 143493, and the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies 141706. Oh, and a little scrap piece of Red Glimmer Paper 121790, for the bow tie and little heart buttons.

11-13-2016-014

This is my second attempt at making one of these tri-fold cards and I think it turned out much better than the first one. Once again I used the Stampin’ Up Candy Cane Lane DSP, the Cookie Cutter Christmas Bundle and the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies.

I love this stamp set, it is called Merry Mice and it is in the Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog (if you would like a catalog please contact me and I will gladly send you one or you can go to my Stampin’ Up Website and order this stamp set from there). Now this layout I got from Angie over at Chic n Scratch  and as you can see the one on the left is laid out just like she has her layout and the one on the right I tweaked it just a bit by having the four layers instead of three and then the third layer I just turned it slightly to make it a tad more casual looking.

The fifth card and surprise project I will keep under wraps for those who attend the class. So if any or all of these cards catch your eye and you would like to come make them for a personal touch in your card giving this year, then be sure to sign up through my Stampin’ Up Website or contact me by Wednesday, November 16, 2016 to reserve your seat. Bring a friend and enjoy a couple hours with us for card making, snacking and socializing.

Have a blessed day and see you Saturday, November 19, 2016!
