Happy Thanksgiving….

Hello everyone, just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and many blessings to you and your families this Holiday Season.

This year I made the mistake of waiting until today (two days before Thanksgiving) to go get everything for Thanksgiving dinner. It wasn’t too bad this afternoon, but patience isn’t my virtue when I am in a hurry. Good thing my husband was with me to make light of everything, which kept me calm.

My husband and I are going to have a quiet dinner together and then he will probably watch his football. I on the other hand have three different orders I got over the weekend that I need to get started on.

Speaking of last weekend, oh my goodness we had so much fun. This last weekend was the November show at the The Big Tin Cotton Gin, and it was beautiful outside. We had a few repeat customers from last month, last season and even met a few newcomers that plan to come back.

I did really well in sales and only have a few Christmas items left so the next few weeks are going to be crazy busy trying to restock everything and make more new stuff. Plus I have three really big orders that have to be done before the first of Dec.. No pressure! Actually I love having this kind of pressure it makes the blood flow and the brain works faster (when you get my age that is really important, it means your still alive), LOL……

Any who, things on the home front have been busy, fun, hectic, and you know just normal for us. Everyone has their own level of normal, so that is why I say “for us”.

Oh, have to tell you this cute story about Jackson. Well you all know about his little “pride” of female stray cats out front, right? There are 11 females that he has in “pride” and they all love him. He actually fronted off a neighbors lab that was running down the street towards them one day, although my husband was right there to grab him and put him in the house before anything happened. It was funny because Jackson just stood in the middle of the street while all the girls scattered, and the dog just stopped in front of him all surprised that he didn’t run too. It actually looked like the dog wanted to play with Jackson but my husband didn’t want to take the chance.

Jackson actually takes his duties of protecting his “pride” very seriously as well as keeping them in line. One night my husband went out to feed the girls and one of the older ones began to hiss at my husband before he even put the food down, Jackson ran over and got between my husband and her and proceeded to chase her away. So she didn’t get to eat with the rest that night, and that female has never hissed at my husband or I again.

Takara is doing really well with her high protein diet and is almost herself again. She just needs to gain a little more weight, but otherwise she is just as ornery as ever. She knows her eating schedule and she makes sure we don’t forget either, every two hours on the dot.

Well that just about covers everything for now. If you want to chit chat with me while I am crafting the next few weeks come on over to my Twitch Channel and say hi. I would love the company and then you can see what I am working on as well. I stream Monday – Friday 3 pm – 11 pm except holidays. I haven’t made any new You Tube videos recently but I still have the old ones listed and I plan to make a couple new ones soon.

Many, many thanks for reading this post, for following me and for your feedback. I really do appreciate all of you who have stuck with me these last few years and all my new followers. I love you all and wouldn’t be as inspired to continue this site if it weren’t for all of you. Thank You!

Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Namaste

Sheila

P.S. Please say an extra prayer this Thanksgiving for all those in California that have lost a loved one, all those that lost their homes, the people that are helping the displaced, all the firefighters, police, and emergency personnel. These fires were devastating and now they are going to have the rains to contend with.

Obstacles

Today it actually looks like fall, so it has gotten me in the mood to finish up a couple more fall projects for the arts and antiques sale in a couple of weeks. I have been able to get pretty much everything done for the show in the last couple months. I won’t panic until next week when I am down to the last minute, and then it is really going to be freak out time…maybe not!

Things seem to have come together quite well for the show this year, despite all the obstacles that have been thrown in our way . I totally recommend prayer because it really does work!

Speaking of obstacles our most recent one has been saving the life of our 11 year old girl fur baby. The last couple of weeks we have been taking turns feeding her by hand and giving her fresh water all day. We almost lost her and the only way we were able to bring her back to life was to feed her a high protein, high calorie diet.

Two and a half weeks ago we took her to the vets for her follow up on her hyperthyroidism and the medication she was taking for that. They weighed her and she had lost weight again. They wanted to test her urine again and do another blood test, so we agreed.  They took her to the back and when she came out she was all hunkered down and putting her butt on the table, she was traumatized. She didn’t do that the last time we were there 30 days earlier when they did all those same tests. I knew something was wrong from the minute I saw her, but they kept saying she was fine that she might be like that for a few hours, but she would be fine. She wasn’t because for the rest of the day she hid behind the couch and wouldn’t eat or drink anything.

That night she began to bleed out her back end and soaked the bath mat in our bathroom. She wouldn’t even move after that. I called the vets but they were closed and they don’t have an emergency hospital here. We did call the nearest veterinary hospital an hour away and they said to bring her in immediately, but when I told the girl how far away we lived she kinda hesitated. She finally said the best thing is to bring her in but under the circumstances if we could keep her alive until morning and take her to her vet first thing in the morning. I immediately went into survival/emergency mode. No time to fall apart now I had to keep her alive.

Needless to say I was up all night with her giving her water with an eye dropper and praying. She did stop bleeding shortly after we got off the phone with the Veterinary hospital. By morning she hadn’t improved, so I called the vet first thing. The Dr. said her tests showed her liver was shutting down and she had protein in her kidneys. The Vet wanted to put her on an IV, medication, do surgery, more follow ups, more medication, hospitalize her, etc., etc.. I fell apart!

All I could think about as the Dr. was talking is the trauma our fur baby would go through not understanding what was going on. Being away from me she would have gotten worse not better. She is Tonkinese and I belong to her. She doesn’t do well when I am not around her for long periods of time, ever since she was kidnapped a couple years ago. She is very leery around strangers now.

I did not like the idea of surgery or all the medication. We try to give our cats the most natural, healthy food, chemical free environment and healthy lifestyle. We try to live our lives that way, so shouldn’t our cats be living that way as well?

Another big factor is that my husband and are not financially wealthy by all means, and all that would have cost a lot more than we could afford. So, I asked the vet for a more natural alternative and cost effective way to helping our fur baby get back to herself. She said that we would have to feed her foods high in calories and vitamins like kitten food, and feed her like every hour. But she still wanted us to bring our fur baby back in for more tests and to give her a new thyroid medication.

My husband went to PetSmart and asked one of the workers for help. He said that he had three different people assisting him when he told them why he was there. They were so attentive and each person was knowledgeable about the items that they handed him. He came home with a feeding syringe, four cans of kitten food, and this awesome miracle gel food that I believe saved her life. That Booster Gel was the miracle that turned our fur baby around. After only a couple feedings we could already see the life back in her eyes.

The process has been long, but our fur baby is almost back to her old self again. She has been eating on her own for the last week, about every two hours now, and drinking water regularly.

She only gets fresh meat that I cook (or the rotisserie chicken my husband picked up at Sam’s Club) and prepare for her. She still likes her High Calorie Booster Gel as a snack/treat. She gets half a can of kitten food that she munches on all night and she has started to eat a little bit of her crunchy food in the last couple of days.

I will forever be thankful for the employees at PetSmart for helping my husband that morning and treating him with dignity, respect and compassion. Yes, our fur baby is an animal. Anyone who has a pet knows that they are just as much a member of the family as all the humans. So when they get sick, injured or die it still hurts the same as if they were a human family member. Those employees at PetSmart saw that and understood that when they were helping my husband.

Thank you for reading through this long post. I am sorry for not posting anything the last couple weeks, but as you can see we have been kinda preoccupied. Here are some pictures I took of our fur baby yesterday.

Tuesday Blues

Have you ever had a day where all you wanted to do is stay in bed all day with the covers up over your head so as to block the world out, just for one day?

This morning I woke up with my husband, I fixed breakfast, then I packed his lunch and sent him off to work. As we were eating breakfast he asked me what my plans were for the day and I told him this long list of things I needed to get done today.

  • Do blood check
  • Make breakfast
  • Pack lunch
  • Do dishes
  • Clean kitchen
  • Clean downstairs bathroom
  • Sweep floors
  • Call vets and make appt. for Takara
  • Write post
  • Check emails/respond
  • Check on orders/deliveries
  • Walk and Yoga
  • Do blood check
  • Eat lunch according to blood sugar
  • Work on Junk Journal embellishments
  • Walk
  • Do blood check
  • Eat dinner according to blood sugar
  • Get stuff ready for live YouTube video tomorrow
  • Bedtime/night Yoga

I was actually really enthusiastic and very focused in on tackling these tasks as soon as I sent hubby off to work. Right away I got a few things done, but then Jackson wanted to play fetch so I got off task, and now I just can’t seem to get back in line and focus on what to do next. All I want to do is crawl back in bed and sleep the rest of the day.

The house is quiet, the cats are peacefully sleeping, it’s hot outside, nice and cool inside, I got eight of the most important tasks done already and the bed is calling me.

No, this is the time that I have designated to get work done, so that is what I am going to do. Right now I am going to finish this very short post and then I am going to go walk for half an hour and do Yoga for half an hour that will get me motivated again.

Right now as I am typing this post I am watching out my window the poor AC repairmen putting in a new AC unit at the neighbor house. Right now it is 106 degrees outside and it is supposed to get up to 110 by the end of the day. Yeah, yeah I know “but it’s a dry heat” never the less those guys out there working in it are still very hot.

One thing that I am very thankful for, is that when my husband and I bought our first house together. The guy that did our house inspection gave us one very important piece of information that we have always done and it has saved us. He told us to always have our AC unit serviced twice a year, once in the Fall and once in the Spring. In the Fall to have it cleaned and serviced, because after all the monsoons/haboobs the unit will get all kinds of dirt and debris that can clog it up. Then in the Spring so that it can be serviced and prepared for the summer months.

The unit we had on our old house was about 22 years old by the time we had it replaced. Now at this house the AC unit was replaced by the previous owners only six months before we bought this house and the house was only eight years old at that time. So I don’t know if, when they built these houses (this development was started about 12 years ago), they used cheap AC units to begin with or if AC units aren’t built to last long, like everything else now days, or if people just don’t know how to maintain their units with the twice a year check ups. But this is the third house in our neighborhood this summer that has had an AC unit replaced.

Ok, so a tip for those of you that own your own home and have an AC unit and really rely on it during the summer months like we do here in Arizona. Make sure you have your AC unit serviced twice a year – once in the Spring (March or April) and again in the Fall (October or November). By doing this you will help your unit last a lot longer and then you won’t have to worry about being without AC during the hottest days of the year.

If you have reached this point of my post then I give you mucho kudos for getting through all my rambling.

Oh, before I forget…..Please come check out my YouTube live video tomorrow at 11:00 am. I will show you my three new Junk Journals I put together over the weekend and I will be embellishing them with you.

Have a great day and go be the best you that you can be!

Jackson Keeping Watch

It has been a long time since I have done an update on our handsome little man Jackson, so I thought that I would take some pictures of him today and share them with all of you.

This is where Jackson has been all day and still is right now this evening. It’s a good thing I decided to just do stuff on the computer today because there isn’t much room for me to do any crafting up here that’s for sure.

Here is a picture I took of him just now.

DSCN0787

Doesn’t he look so peaceful?

He is a very big boy, not at all fat just muscular and tall. He actually towers over Takara now and is quite a bit stronger than her now. Since she taught him how to fight, he is now ninja fast and sneaky just like her. Sometimes when they are playing she will get mad at him because he hasn’t learned the safe word yet, even though she is yelling it at him very loudly.

We have always given him time outs when he is bad (like picking relentlessly on Takara), or he starts throwing a fit by tearing things up that don’t belong to him (my head bands, hair ties, any of our papers left out) or getting into things he knows he shouldn’t (my house plants, or the trashcans in the house). Usually time out is only five maybe ten minutes but when we open the door he is always just waking up and just looks at us like “what? is it time to come out already, I just went to sleep?”

Now, just recently, I have caught him putting himself in time out a couple times. Once when Takara really walloped him during one of their playing sessions and the second time just the other day when I got on to him and told him he was being a bad boy. The funny thing is I didn’t even realize he had gone to his room until about half an hour later when I was looking for him (because it was so quiet), and there he was sleeping on his blanket by the window.

Maybe this means he has learned that the women of the house rule. Or maybe he is just going through a growth spurt and he needs his rest. But then again my husband has been taking him outside the last few mornings before it gets too hot, so he can air out his furry little britches. That could be why he is a little sluggish in the afternoon.

I think since we have raised all our cats from tiny babies, that they learn our habits, the different tones in our voices (if not actual words we say), they know our routine and they know how to manipulate us to get what they want. So that is why we treat them more like human/kids.

Oh, gotta tell you this, almost forgot.

The other day my husband was going out front so he decided to take Jackson with him. Well, we have a few stray cats that live in our neighborhood that are about the same age as Jackson. A couple of them have decided to take up residence on our front porch during the day because it is shaded and cool (plus we have been putting water out there for them). My husband went around the house to the front door to get the water dish (because he didn’t want Jackson drinking out of it) with Jackson in tow.

As Jackson came around the corner he saw the kittens and they saw him, immediately all the tales got fluffy but no one got aggressive. The one kitten took off and went and hid under the tree and the other one kinda hissed and then got in a submissive position in front of Jackson. Jackson sniffed the other cat for a minute, then he relaxed and then they just sat next to each other by the Oleander Bush/Shrub.

It was so cute to see our boy making friends, but we do not encourage him to hang out with the outside cats. That is why one of is always outside with him and mostly only in the backyard because the kittens (we call them kittens even though they are the same age as Jackson, they are half his size) are in the front yard.

Well Takara is telling me it is time for bed so I guess I should listen. The boy has toddled off somewhere, so this is a good time for me to wrap things up and bid you all a good night until next time.

Happy Tuesday

As I sit here to write this post I am in a quandary. I have a gazillion things I need to get done yet I’m just not feeling it today.

Here are a few of the reason I have come up with so far.

  1. It is overcast and looks like we might have a nice monsoon/haboob storm.
  2. I was working on my computer all day yesterday and I used a lot of my brain power so today the brain is in shutdown mode.
  3. Since I had to work on my computer all day yesterday, I had to stay up late to finish a couple craft projects.
  4. Takara (my furry, four legged, beautiful baby girl cat) keeps jumping up here on my desk and just plopping herself down in front of me wanting to be loved. Now I can’t deny her my attention and love!
  5. My blood sugar was a little high this morning so I walked on the treadmill for 15 min. before breakfast. For breakfast I had a poached egg, 1 cup of beans I made yesterday, and 10 raspberries. I know it sounds awful but it is filling and there are no carbs just protein.
  6. Plus hubby is at work so I have all day to get stuff done, no need to rush (at least not until the last hour before he comes home) right?

Well, all the above are great excuses not to get my butt in gear, and maybe if I didn’t have a deadline to get some of these projects done then I could take a day off and be lazy. October is just around the corner and I don’t have half the projects done that I had planned on having completed by now. It is crunch time for me right now, so no being lazy!

Nice pep talk but still not feeling it yet!

Takara is still purring away laying across my arms as I type. I love when she is like this because it’s like she can’t get or give enough love fast enough. She is Tonkinese so tends to be quite demanding, very affectionate when she wants to be, playful when she want to be and quite vocal at times. She has definitely been my cat from the day she showed up on our doorstep 11 years ago as a tiny kitten.

I have read that the Tonkinese life expectancy is between 11 and 14 years, I sure hope that the figure is wrong. Awww…So see another reason I need to just sit here and hold her as long as possible. Every minute is so precious with her and I don’t want to take that for granted.

Oh, I almost forgot. This past weekend was my husbands birthday and a while back I had asked him what he wanted for his birthday, he said “nothing, except maybe some good bar-b-que.” meaning his favorite BBQ place. So on his birthday we went up to the city and I took him over to his favorite BBQ place and they were closed because of cooler issues so they wouldn’t be open until maybe the next day if they could fix the problem. Needless to say we were both disappointed. I took him to his next almost favorite place but I could tell he wasn’t as excited.

I was very upset because everything I had planned to surprise him with this week fell apart. So I felt that his birthday was a complete disaster.

This man loves his “techy toys” and has just about everything he wants as far as that stuff goes. He is also an artist (like the drawing kind) so he has all the art supplies that he needs and wants for now.  He doesn’t do any kind of woodworking or carpentry so he doesn’t need any tools. He is good at taking care of the yard and maintaining the plants but doesn’t really have the time now that he is working all these crazy hours.

So as a surprise on Tuesday July 17, I had called a landscaper/gardener to come trim the tree and clean up the bushes out front and fix the irrigation system for him. The lady said that she would call me right back with the day and time later in the week that they could come out, but she never did. I called a couple other places the next day but they were going to charge extra for coming out of town (they were out of my budget anyway). That was a failed gift for my husband.

Now do you see why I was so upset? I really felt like crying because I had nothing else planned to give him.

Low and behold as we pulled into our driveway, after coming back from the city on Friday, there were two people in our yard just finishing picking up the debris from the tree and bushes. Our yard was totally transformed, it looked so good and we were both surprised. It was the lady I had talked to on Tuesday and her husband. The husband had fixed the irrigation system and then showed my husband what he did and how to repair it on his own. They were awesome and very reasonable in price.

Thank you Lord for once again answering my prayer!

It turned out to be a good day after all and no tears were shed.

Ok, after a few interruptions (phone calls, cats fighting, dryer stopping/ folding clothes and potty breaks) while writing this post it is now lunch time. So I must go and do another blood check and then eat accordingly.

Thank you for sticking around with me as I rambled on this morning. I do feel better and like I will get most of the stuff on my list of thing to do today done. Thank YOU!

Have a great day and do something positive today.

Namaste

Sheila

P.S. No storm yet but still semi-overcast and ugly looking outside.

Jackson

I couldn’t resist taking these pictures and sharing them with all of you. I think that Jackson looks so cute when he looks out the window with his big paws on the window sill, doesn’t it remind you of a little kid looking out the window?

The next few pictures he is actually in the window watching the birds in the tree right outside the window and then they would fly up on the roof of the house. He was having a blast watching them from this point of view.

Ok, these next few pictures were taken around Christmas time of Jax on my desk one evening “helping” me.

Now this is how Jackson sleep’s on my husbands desk.

Now who spoils them? Normally Sheba is sleeping on the green towel right next to Jax and they know which towel is theirs.

Isn’t he getting so big? We just love him so much and he is so loving right back. Can you believe that next month he is going to be one year old in human years. We have been trying to think of what to do special for him for his birthday but haven’t really thought of anything real exciting yet.

So, here is what I came up with….YOU! I would like to enlist you to come up with a birthday party and gifts fit for our handsome little prince. My husband just suggested that we catch a bird and give it to him…now do you see why I am asking for your help? Please leave a comment below or email me at gingerstreetboutique@gmail.com your ideas, I would greatly appreciate the help and I will definitely give credit to the person/person’s who’s ideas we use. I will also take pictures to share with all of you his one year birthday celebration.

Well, it is beautiful outside, my husband just fixed us lunch and is waiting for me out on the patio. Have a great day everyone!

Welcome to 2018

So how have you all been? How was your holidays? I hope that everyone enjoyed time with their family and friends making memories. My husband and I had a busy holiday season but it was a fun busy and we had a wonderful Christmas together. My husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year and I got exactly what I wanted. Below are some pictures of what I got for Christmas this year.

We moved my craft room upstairs (I will post pictures of that in another post) and painted the downstairs den and entryway, hung up new curtains in the den/my office and moved the living room around so that now it is a formal sitting area again. My husband taped everything off for me and I did all the painting, I think we did a pretty good job. I still have to get some frames for a couple of my husbands charcoal drawings I want to hang in there and finish painting that ugly brown cabinet, but other than that the room is done.

Here are the before pictures.

Now I am waiting for my husband to ask me what I want for my birthday in a couple months. Hint: There is only one room left downstairs and it is going to be the biggest project. I think he is deep down hoping that he gets a full time job really soon that allows him to work over time again, so he doesn’t have to help me with my “projects”.

I didn’t decorate the house for Christmas this year because of the little guy, I knew he would just destroy a Christmas tree or anything that we put out. Next year he will be older and hopefully more mellow or at least out of his destructive phase.

All three of the cats got spoiled by their Aunt and Uncle from “across the pond” as they do every year, but this year I forgot to take pictures as they opened their gifts ( I am so sorry). I think it was because we were so excited to see Jackson’s reaction to his first Christmas present, that we both totally spaced the fact that we didn’t have the camera with us. They each got a toy and yummy treats that they all loved. Jackson has since hoarded all the toys and gets very upset when the girls mess with “his” toys – he really doesn’t share well.

Well, it is getting late and Takara is curled up right in front of me laying across the bottom half of my laptop and my arms as I am trying to type, she wants me to go to bed. This is her way of saying “ok, see me now? I am more important than this thing you are looking at and typing on.” She is getting really annoyed that I am moving my hands around the keyboard and is starting to stretch out more as if to try and grab my fingers, there goes the tail. Gotta go before she starts biting.

Goodnight all..

Jax in The Box

Here is a cute video I took of Jax “helping me” (his version).

I was trying out the new card rack so I was taking all the cards from the box and putting them on the rack and Jax thought that once the box was empty it was his. We had such a laugh, I just had to share it with you…enjoy!

This is a short post but I wanted to share this video and wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving, I hope that you have a blessed day with your family and friends.

Something to make you laugh…

I just had to share with you this really cute picture of Jax and hopefully it will make you laugh or at least bring a smile to your face.

Jax sleeping

He was helping me in the craft room and just wore himself out. He doesn’t snore but he does sleep with his tongue sticking out, it is so cute.

We sometimes forget that he is still a baby until moments like this.

Have a great Monday!

September 9, 2017 Card Class

Ok, CHANGE OF PLANS here.

Starting September 9, 2017, I will be having a Card Class every Saturday for the month of September. I will not be having any classes in the months of October, November or December. Last year I stretched myself too thin with trying to do too much and ended up being sick for almost a month, so I am not going to do that this year. We will see how things are going as the season progresses and maybe we will be able to slip in a class or two before Christmas.

So, for our class September 9, 2017 here are the cards that I have come up with so far.

8-31-2017 009

I got the idea for this card from Donna Kish a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator. You really should go check out her blog she has some really pretty cards, very talented lady.

8-31-2017 011

This card idea I got off Pinterest, but before I could save it my cat walked across the keyboard and closed the page. I lost it and when I went back I could not find it again and still have not. So if you are the person or know the person who created this please contact me so that I can give you the credit for this card design. I changed it up a little bit but it is still the same layout.

8-31-2017 006

I got the idea for this Treat Card from Mary Brown off Pinterest. Mine is changed up a bit from hers but the idea is the same. There are three Hershey’s nuggets inside with space to write a note to the recipient.

I have a couple more projects ideas we may do as well, like another little treat box and/or gift card holder cards (if that makes any sense….lol).

If you live here in Arizona and looking for something to do to get out of the heat on September 15-16, 2017. Well I have a suggestion for you… at the Mesa Convention Center they are going to be having the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo where you can enjoy workshops, check out new products/equipment, meet Stephanie Barnard and Becki Adams, plus so much more. If you would like any more information here is the link Stamp and Scrapbook Expo 2017 . I am so excited, this will be the first time I have ever gone, and I know it will be fun.

There is one thing that I would like to ask of all of you right now. Will you please take a moment to pray for all the people and animals down in Texas that have lost everything and are struggling to get through each day. All the proceeds from my September classes will be going to the Houston Humane Society , so if you would like to sign up for all four classes ($20.00 per class) now, then please use this link to make your donation and bring your receipt with you to the September 9, 2017 class. Thank you!

Love, peace and strength…

Jax Just Chillin’

8-5-2017 012

This is one of Jax’s favorite spots to sleep while I am working in my craft room. As you can see he is barely fitting in this basket anymore, more evidence in this next picture.

8-5-2017 013

See what I mean? he is hanging over the side. I really don’t know how he can be comfortable in there, but he is. Luckily he does not shed, maybe when he gets a little bigger he will. These are all the dish cloths that I crochet and will have to be washed before I take them to the craft show, or maybe I will just keep them for Jax to sleep on.

We started letting Jax go outside with Takara and Sheba in the mornings, just the last few days, and he thinks that is the most awesome adventure ever. He walks around the back patio and has only ventured as far as the one side of the house in the shade, so far. This morning we let him go outside all by himself with Takara (normally my husband and/or I are out there with them) and we watched them through the window. Takara was right beside him the whole time, she did not let him out of her sight as she took him off the patio and towards the other side of the house where she likes to hang out. He did not like that side of the house because there was sun over there and it was already hot outside, so he came back over to the patio and just flopped himself down like he had done a 20 mile hike in the desert. They were only outside maybe 10 minutes but when we saw Jax start breathing with his mouth open my husband said it was time for him to come in. Jax on the other hand still wanted to stay outside so my husband had to go grab him and bring him in, Takara came in on her own.

Ever since we started letting him go outside in the mornings we have noticed that he hasn’t been as rambunctious or ornery. Just like a human child if you let them run and play and wear themselves out they will sleep better and be more mellow. Takara has really been appreciating this change in him as well, since she is mostly the one he is rambunctious with.

We have the bug man coming to spray this Saturday so that will be fun for Jax. Last time the kid came Jax followed him around and had to watch everything he did. When the kid put the canister down Jax was over there attacking it like it was the enemy. Anything different in his routine is something to get excited about.

He is such a curious little guy so not much really scares him but he is cautious, which I am thankful for. Just like with a human child we have to put up or out of sight everything we don’t want him to get into. Cupboards are a new thing to him now too, so we have to make sure that we close all cupboards doors almost as soon as we open them because he is lightning fast and will slip in before we even see him. A couple times we have heard him crying but didn’t see him and as we kept calling for him he would cry and by following his voice we have found him in our closet, bathroom cabinet, pantry, linen closet and in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. Luckily he hasn’t figured out how to open doors or cupboards yet like both Sheba and Takara, although I am sure it is only a matter of time before they teach him.

So I hope that you enjoyed the update and pictures of Jax, I will keep you updated as he grows.  There definitely is never a dull moment in our house and I wouldn’t change it for the world, because out cats bring us so much entertainment and unconditional love.

Be sure to go give your fur baby/babies some love right now and have a great day!

Card Class Update

As I called my card class regulars yesterday to get a final count for class, by popular vote they decided they did not want to make the stationery box with all the cards and tags they just wanted to make cards. So last night I came up with the following ideas, thanks to my Pinterest stash. All the kits are made and ready to go and I was in bed by 2:00 am, so it was a productive day.

Here are the cards I came up with and under each one I will give you the link as to where I found it and credit to who designed them, so be sure to go check out those sites as well for many more wonderful card ideas.

This sample came from the Stampin’ Up Holiday catalog preview for one of the fall suites. The flowers are cut out of a sheet from the Painted Autumn DSP pack and the background paper is from the same pack. Stampin’ Up Holiday catalog will be released September 1, 2017, so if you would like a catalog contact me or if you already have a demonstrator then please contact them to request your catalog.

This is my idea simple, aged, rustic.

On this card there is supposed to be a little banner at the bottom of the card in the Night of Navy card stock with the sentiment, but I thought it looked nice just like this so I put the sentiment on the inside only. I have cut out all the little banner strips for each card that way the class will have the option to put it on the front if they wish. The idea for this card came from Stampin with Sandi

The background DSP (Designer Series Paper) also came from the Painted Autumn paper pack. The stamps came from the Merry Cafe’ stamp set also in the New 2017 Holiday Catalog coming out September 1, 2017. The little gift tag I made myself using my Crimper, the smallest hole punch on my Crop-A-Dile and then I punched out the little heart using my Stampin’ Up Owl punch. You can also order the Corrugated Elements tags through my Stampin’ Up website (order # 144158). Now this idea came from Stampin’ Pretty.

I hope that you enjoyed these samples, but please go check out these other ladies as well they have some really cool card ideas.

Here is how I had to work last night.

While I was cutting out all those flowers. If I moved too much his paw on top of my arm would grab my arm with his claws.

After about half an hour of holding on to my arm he moved over to the other side of my desk (I guess I was moving too much and it was disturbing him) and fell asleep. This is how he sleeps most of the time, with his little tongue sticking out. Isn’t he so cute. He is getting so big now that he takes up a majority of my work space, but he still thinks he fits perfect.

Thank you all for stopping by and I hope that you have a great rest of your week.
