What’s been happening?

Well where do I start?

  1. Been real busy with my new Twitch channel (GinStB) and having fun with that. Plus I have enjoyed meeting all the wonderfully fun and creative people there. We already have a pretty close knit little family of crafty people that get together on my channel 4 days a week and enjoy sharing ideas, crafting and just chatting. We usually have a different project each week that we work on and sometimes maybe two or three projects. The next few weeks are working on Junk Journals, clusters, paperclip clusters, book page envelopes, pocket journals, ephemera, etc..
  2. Working on getting my craft room organized – that I have found is a never ending process.
  3. Husband started a new job so we have all been adjusting to his new schedule and getting our routine going around that. Hubby loves his new job, it is totally out of his comfort zone and a job he never thought that he would want to do but he has settled into it quite well and actually is doing really good.
  4. Takara is still being fed every two to three hours and is doing really well with her boiled chicken all day and a can of kitten food at night with her crunchy food in between meals. It really is amazing how she came from deaths bed literally and has become her old self again. Cats really do have nine lives I believe.
  5. Jackson is so big yet he still acts like such a baby and we sometimes forget that he really is still a baby, he only turned two in March. He still has his little “pride” of female feral/stray cats that he has to keep an eye on every day. He definitely doesn’t like to be around them when they are eating though, they scare him. Jackson is a big part of my Twitch stream as well because he likes to come in and check out what is going on and quite often just plops himself down right in the middle of what I am working on.

So, there you have it, not much has changed or has been going on around here. I guess there are a few more little things that every day life throws your way that we have been dealing with or have handled over the last few weeks, but nothing really worth mentioning.

There is one question that has been weighing on my mind lately and that is “why is there so much hate in this world?” I know that is an endless/ageless question, meaning it has been asked many times before over the years by many different people. I know the obvious answers – power, jealousy, greed, and color/race – but we are all people, human beings living together on this planet that we are destroying with our hate.

I know I sound naive and I probably am but it just bothers me that people are so ready to judge, jury and prosecute someone else before they even look at themselves. NO ONE is perfect and in my eyes NO ONE is better than anyone else. We all eat, poop and piss the same, (if you are a human being) we are humans no matter your financial status, your skin color, your sex, your career choice, or your age.

In my life time so far I have met people from all walks of life including a Prince (I had dinner in his home), movie stars (lived right next door to many very famous actors and actress’s in my younger years), worked alongside CEO’s of company’s and corporations. I have been a single mother struggling with work/life balance, I have dealt with divorce, death and the loss of a child, I have worked in a factory – fast food – secretary – retail – bar – cosmetology and law enforcement, I lost everything and was homeless on the street. I have overcome many life threatening obstacles/surgeries over the years, and am now diabetic. Through all this and so much more I feel that I have gotten to know some really wonderful PEOPLE, and yes there have been some not so nice people along the way too but it didn’t change how I look at other people or how I treat them. I am a firm believer in “treat others as you would have them treat you”! What if we all really lived by that motto? How wonderful this world would be!?

The reason behind me telling you all the above about myself is because I just wanted you to know that I have been through or experienced a lot in my life so I feel that I can relate to many of you and hopefully you will be able to connect with me in some way. I am not anyone special and I am not the first person to ever to ask the above question nor will I ever be the last.

Life is not easy no matter how much money you have or don’t have. Status doesn’t make you any better than anyone else. Just because you are a parent doesn’t make you an expert. So why do we think that can judge, make fun of, criticize, tease or maliciously hurt someone else. WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS..

ALL HUMAN BEINGS HAVE THE RIGHT TO TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM TREAT YOU.

I know that this post may upset some of you and some of you may wonder where all this is coming from or why?! All I can say is if it upset you then you may want to ask yourself, why? I do not apologize for my life or my experiences because they have made me who I am. Nor do I apologize for my beliefs or opinions because my grandfather, my father, my ex-husband and my current husband all fought for my right to express my beliefs and opinions.

Where all this came from is that every time I turn on the news or the computer all I ever see is bombings, murders, child suicides, hit and runs, animal cruelty, parents doing unspeakable things to their children and of course not a day can go by without someone in the K. family being shoved down our throats.

Today what got me most is an article that I read on my computer (not sure how true it is or isn’t) about Pink and her family, and it made me sad. Normally I really don’t pay much attention to celeb. tabloids because I have never been a big “fan” or celeb. chaser. This article hit a chord because I respect Pink and her husband for what they have been doing in sharing their lives, their kids, and her tour on social media with everyone over the years. I myself have enjoyed watching her kids grow up and seeing how talented their daughter has become in both her parents professions (she truly is a girl to watch out for in the future). But the article said that Pink will no longer be posting photos of their kids because of all the negative comments she has gotten over the pictures and people judging her as a parent. She is not the first celeb. to get flack about their parenting skills, and will probably not be the last. Who are we to judge? They are people, human beings just like you and me, yes they are famous and yes they have a lot of money but they still have feelings and they still eat, poop, piss and die just like the rest of us.

Alright I am done with my little rant and I would like to thank you for sticking with me if you made it this far, you really do deserve a gold star!

Have a great rest of your week everyone and be kind to one another!

Namaste,

Sheila

P.S. the above picture is of the Game of Thrones exploding box card I was commissioned to make before April 12. I got it done a whole week ahead of schedule.

Long Time No See

Wow, I can’t believe how fast time is flying by. It is already March and this is only the second post I have done this year so far.

So how have you been doing with your New Year’s resolutions? I heard or read somewhere that a study was done and that most people that make New Year’s resolutions only stick to it for the first two weeks and then give up. So if you are one of those people don’t feel bad you are not alone. I don’t make New Year’s resolutions anymore, because I know I won’t stick to it for more than a few days. I do however make small goals for myself weekly throughout the year, that way I don’t disappoint myself.

Speaking of goals, back in October 2018, I set a goal for myself to start a Twitch channel and I did. Then in November 2018, I set a goal to stream live on a regular basis with a set time every day, I did that. In Dec. 2018, I reached my goal of 20 followers. Now in March of 2019, I have reached my next goal of 50 followers. This may seem like a slow process to some but for me I am very grateful and quite happy with the progress. My philosophy is quality over quantity. Meaning I would rather have a few great people around me rather than just a lot of people.

This process has been fun and quite rewarding in so many ways. I have met some really wonderful people and made some really good friends. I get so inspired by all the artists, crafters and creators that I have met through my channel and on Twitch itself. As an artist/crafter you find inspiration everywhere and in everything around you, but I never imagined this.

Crafting is my passion and I am so thankful that I am able to indulge myself every day with my passion, plus share it with others as well. So if you would like to come join me any time you are more than welcome. You can also meet the wonderful group of people that I hang out with every day. See you there https://www.twitch.tv/ginstb

Now for more family news – Hubby started a new job and is loving it so far. It is something totally different from anything else that he has ever done so it is still new and exciting for him. He is happy and likes the fact that he works for a very professional company that treats its employees with respect and like real human beings rather than $$$ signs or robots.

Jackson has gotten so big (not fat just solid) he weighs about 18 lbs now. He likes to make a daily appearance on my Twitch stream and everyone love him. Jackson also has a “pride” of 12 female stray cats outside that he keeps a close eye on through the front window and garage door all day. On “dads” day off the boys go outside together (weather permitting) and the girl cats all take turns coming up to Jackson and rubbing up against him and a couple of them even touch noses with him. Poor boy doesn’t know what to do with all that attention. He did run off one stray male that came in the yard one time, we have never seen that cat again.

Takara is doing so good with her every two hour feeding of boiled chicken, she hasn’t gained any weight but she is strong and is herself again. We have noticed though that as she is getting older she has become more vocal and very demanding. She has begun carrying around one of Jackson’s toys (that he never played with) this last year. When she is ready to sleep and we aren’t going to bed she will bring us her “baby” and cry until we acknowledge her, if I tell her to put the baby to bed she will put it in her shoe box or lay it on the blanket on the couch, it is so cute. I never thought that you could train a cat like that. Another cute thing that she does with her “baby” is if she is hungry and we don’t feed her fast enough then she will carry her baby around crying acting like the baby is hungry. LOL She really is something, and we love them both so much for their unique personalities.

Well that is about all I can think of right now as far as catching you up on what is going on around here but I would love to hear from all of you about what you have been doing. Let me know what your goal is for this month, week, or even year. If you have reached a goal and would like to share it, I would love to hear about it, so I can be excited with you. If you need help or encouragement in reaching your goal please let me know because I would like to be there for you.

A smile doesn’t cost anything, but it is worth everything to the receiver.

Happy New Year

So it is better late than never to wish you all a Happy New Year, at least it is still January.

How has everyone been? I hope that you all are working hard on your New Year’s resolutions still! I have heard several times on the radio and also read an article recently that said most people that make New Year’s resolutions only stick to them for the first two weeks and then they give up. That is why I don’t make a New Year’s resolution.

Well if you haven’t noticed I have been sort of busy, there are a few new things in the shop, be sure to check out the Valentine’s Day items. I have also started my new Twitch channel that I stream live every day and that keeps me busy and on track with my projects. Be sure to stop by say “hi” and hit the follow button. Once I hit 50 followers on Twitch we are going to have a drawing, and three lucky people will receive something hand made by me.

Still feeding Takara her boiled chicken every two hours, and she is doing great still alive and as ornery as ever. Jackson keeps growing, I think he is going to be the size of a small Bob Cat when he is done. Even with his size he is still afraid of all 13 of the females in his pride. It is funny as soon as Jackson goes out front the female cats start surrounding him and take turns rubbing up against him and talking to him. Poor boy just stands there all confused as to what he is supposed to do and then he takes off for his bush and hides there until my husband gets him out.

The girls outside (Jackson’s pride) are getting so healthy looking, now that we and the neighbor across the street are are feeding them on a regular basis. We feed the girls in the evening and the neighbor feeds them in the morning and believe me those girls know which house to be at at what time.

Yeah my life is so exciting all I have to talk about is cat’s, crafting and weather. LOL….aren’t you so glad you started following me?

Well, one real exciting thing that has happened! The New 2019 Stampin’ Up! Occasions and Celebration Catalogs are out so if you are interested in receiving the set please let me know and I will be happy to send one out to you. If you already have a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator please contact them for a set.

Be sure to check out the three flyers on the Front Page of my site for a sneak peak of the awesome opportunities, offers and options that are being given during this time until March 31, 2019. Please contact me if you have any questions, would like to host a Stampin’ Up! party/workshop/class, if you want to place an order or if you would like to sign up as a Demonstrator.

Alright, it is time for me to go get a couple hours of shut eye before I have to get up and pack “hubbies” lunch and send him off to work. Then I have to do my Friday household chores before I start streaming.

Good morning all!

Merry Christmas

Today is the day that family and friends spend together celebrating by exchanging gifts and having lavish feasts. But do we really know or remember what we are celebrating? What this day really means? Not just a day off from work for the adults or winter break for the kids.

This is the day that we are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. So this is also a holy day, a day that we should be generous and kind to one another. I believe that every day of the year we should be generous and kind to one another, but then that is just me.

I love to watch the old animated “The little Drummer Boy” movie, and every year when I watch it I cry. That movie always reminds me that no matter how humble the gift, if it comes from the heart with love, then it is even more precious than all the gold or fine jewels in the world.

What is your favorite holiday movie? Why? I really would like to see your comments below or email me privately if you like.

For the last several years I have a regular routine every Christmas. I wake up and say a prayer of thanks to God. I make pancakes and eggs for my husband and I. We feed the cats their special feast of fancy cat foods and boiled chicken. Then my husband, the cats, and I watch “The Christmas Story”. Then I clean house and get ready for the rest of the week. My husband and I do not exchange gifts anymore because we have everything that we need.

I do have to admit that for several years now I have had the same wish and I am hoping that one day that wish will come true. Other than that I am very blessed and grateful for the life I have.

Christmas is also a day that reminds me of my faith and belief in God and how powerful his love really is. I am not religious, I used to be, but I do believe in God and I do talk to him every day.

God put Jesus on this earth to teach us kindness, love, compassion, generosity, forgiveness, and he also gave us the tools and knowledge to heal one another. Some how as a society we have lost our way and His teachings. The only time of year that we see a smidgen of generosity or kindness on a larger scale is at Christmas time.

Ok, I have two request for everyone this coming New Year! 1. Everyday do one kind, or generous, or compassionate, or loving thing, or forgive someone. 2. Pass this request around to all your friends and family so that they can make this their New Years resolution as well. None of these cost you anything (unless you choose to) except maybe a second of your time. In return you will receive a lighter heart, a warmth inside that is immeasurable, a feeling of great satisfaction, and you just might get a kiss or hug in return.

Thank you for reading through my rambling today, this wasn’t exactly what I had in mind to write when I sat down, but apparently this is what I am supposed to write because it just all came out rather easily.

Merry Christmas everyone and may you have a Happy Healthy New Year filled with much joy and many blessing!

Happy Thanksgiving….

Hello everyone, just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and many blessings to you and your families this Holiday Season.

This year I made the mistake of waiting until today (two days before Thanksgiving) to go get everything for Thanksgiving dinner. It wasn’t too bad this afternoon, but patience isn’t my virtue when I am in a hurry. Good thing my husband was with me to make light of everything, which kept me calm.

My husband and I are going to have a quiet dinner together and then he will probably watch his football. I on the other hand have three different orders I got over the weekend that I need to get started on.

Speaking of last weekend, oh my goodness we had so much fun. This last weekend was the November show at the The Big Tin Cotton Gin, and it was beautiful outside. We had a few repeat customers from last month, last season and even met a few newcomers that plan to come back.

I did really well in sales and only have a few Christmas items left so the next few weeks are going to be crazy busy trying to restock everything and make more new stuff. Plus I have three really big orders that have to be done before the first of Dec.. No pressure! Actually I love having this kind of pressure it makes the blood flow and the brain works faster (when you get my age that is really important, it means your still alive), LOL……

Any who, things on the home front have been busy, fun, hectic, and you know just normal for us. Everyone has their own level of normal, so that is why I say “for us”.

Oh, have to tell you this cute story about Jackson. Well you all know about his little “pride” of female stray cats out front, right? There are 11 females that he has in “pride” and they all love him. He actually fronted off a neighbors lab that was running down the street towards them one day, although my husband was right there to grab him and put him in the house before anything happened. It was funny because Jackson just stood in the middle of the street while all the girls scattered, and the dog just stopped in front of him all surprised that he didn’t run too. It actually looked like the dog wanted to play with Jackson but my husband didn’t want to take the chance.

Jackson actually takes his duties of protecting his “pride” very seriously as well as keeping them in line. One night my husband went out to feed the girls and one of the older ones began to hiss at my husband before he even put the food down, Jackson ran over and got between my husband and her and proceeded to chase her away. So she didn’t get to eat with the rest that night, and that female has never hissed at my husband or I again.

Takara is doing really well with her high protein diet and is almost herself again. She just needs to gain a little more weight, but otherwise she is just as ornery as ever. She knows her eating schedule and she makes sure we don’t forget either, every two hours on the dot.

Well that just about covers everything for now. If you want to chit chat with me while I am crafting the next few weeks come on over to my Twitch Channel and say hi. I would love the company and then you can see what I am working on as well. I stream Monday – Friday 3 pm – 11 pm except holidays. I haven’t made any new You Tube videos recently but I still have the old ones listed and I plan to make a couple new ones soon.

Many, many thanks for reading this post, for following me and for your feedback. I really do appreciate all of you who have stuck with me these last few years and all my new followers. I love you all and wouldn’t be as inspired to continue this site if it weren’t for all of you. Thank You!

Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Namaste

Sheila

P.S. Please say an extra prayer this Thanksgiving for all those in California that have lost a loved one, all those that lost their homes, the people that are helping the displaced, all the firefighters, police, and emergency personnel. These fires were devastating and now they are going to have the rains to contend with.

Happy Saturday

Good morning! Well for some of you it may not be starting out so well, after being out all night. For me it has started rather early (4 am) as per every day this week, but last night I got the best nights sleep I have had in a long time and today I feel refreshed.

Last weekend was the opening of the season at The Big Tin Cotton Gin and we had a blast. I met so many new wonderful people, saw a few of my awesome customers from last season, and made some new friends.

We sold quite a bit, at least enough to cover our booth rent and a little bit of the cost for product. I never really make a profit off my crafts at these shows, but that is alright as long as I can make enough to cover my booth rent. My payment is meeting the people that purchase my items and hearing their stories of who they intend to give them to, and why.

I have also gotten many good ideas from customers as to how I can improve items or change them up for different occasions or events. There have been many Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators that I have met and even exchanged ideas with (it is always awesome to meet a fellow Demonstrator).

As you can see it really was a very productive weekend and I am so looking forward to the next show November 16 -18, 2018.

This whole last week has been crazy with my husbands new job hours, so my schedule has been totally thrown off kilter. So the next week and a half I will be working my little fingers to the bones getting ready for the next show.

Please excuse me for not posting very often during show season, but I really am busy working about 18-20 hours a day seven days a week in between shows just prepping and making new items.

I will be steaming me working on stuff over on my twitch channel if you would like to come chat with me or you can watch my YouTube videos as well.

Thank you for your support and I hope that you have a wonderful Saturday doing whatever it is that you have planned for the day.

P..S. Yes, short but sweet and straight to the point. Thank you for noticing.
